Hi Everyone,
I just thought I'd check in with you guys to see how everyone's enjoying the class. I know we're supposed to post to (that's funny) the class blog every week, so I figured I'd make a general statement about visiting museums so far. I appreciate the fact that every week it is required of me to take an entire afternoon to myself. This is a luxury I've not had since my daughter was born in '03, so the silence is deafening at times! Once I've been at the museum for about an hour, though, I find that I'm so absorbed in the exhibits. This is probably the only time during the week that I'm completely focused and not thinking about what my kids are into and up to. This is refreshing, and I don't feel at all guilty about it!
So far the Yale Art Gallery has been my favorite stop. Something about that building just feels alive to me, and as I walked from room to room I had the sense that I was literally going with the flow. I suppose in ancient terms, and now in fashionable terms, the feng shui in that place is exactly on point!
I hope everyone else is enjoying their trips, too. I know that I've learned a lot from reading everyone else's posts, and I appreciate being in a class with other people who are thoughtful and insightful. Thanks!
Kristen

Kristin,
Thanks for the post. I am enjoying this class as well. Museums are not a place I have been in since high school, so I am enjoying going. With my busy schedule, it sometimes is hard to find time for fun things, so having a reason to go is good! I visited the Wadsworth today, I wanted to go sooner but I caught a bug and haven't been out of the house. This Saturday I hope to go to the Florence Griswold with one of my friends, so I am sure that will be fun too. I am going to head to your blog now to read up on your experiences!
Kristin...
Yes thanks for the post... I am so glad that you are treating this as a mini vacation each week and that the museum visits are for "you". That is just what I designed into this class...!
